Accidents will happen

A good health and safety regime in the office is not only a legal requirement, but can help minimise the chances of an injury or illness occurring. Appropriate insurance is also a must to protect yourself, your employees and visitors.

There are some simple steps you can take to minimise the chances of an incident happening in the workplace.

The HSE recommends carrying out a five-step risk assessment of the office as follows:

  • identify the hazards
  • decide who might be harmed and how
  • evaluate the risks and decide on precautions
  • record your findings and implement them
  • review your assessment and update if necessary
