Your policy will include complete cover for your building along with specialised landlord’s content insurance to protect against insured perils such as accidental damage, fire, vandalism, flooding and storm damage. Other features can include:
- Property owner’s liability, covering you against injury claims from members of the public. This will protect you if, for example, someone trips over a hole in the ground in the vicinity of your property.
- Loss of rent cover, protecting you in cases of loss of rent due to an insured peril where the property is uninhabitable. Otherwise, cover can be provided for costs to re-house your tenants until the property becomes habitable again. This is often included as standard.
- Legal expenses cover, to cover costs as a result of tenancy disputes, eviction of squatters and so on.
C&M will discuss your needs with you in detail to get an idea of the kind of cover you require. Based on this, we will arrange a suitable insurance package with one of our reputable insurers, selecting the one with the best policy wording for you.
If you let out more than one property, we can arrange a portfolio policy to cover all of your properties – even if this is a mix of residential and commercial lettings.
